THE 13TH HERO

Everyone knows the twelve heroes who saved the world.

Nobody remembers the thirteenth.

For decades, The Twelve have been treated like legends. Their faces cover buildings. Kids dress like them. Movies tell their stories. Entire cities were rebuilt in their names after they supposedly defeated the most dangerous supervillain the world had ever seen.

Sixteen-year-old Kairo Brooks couldn’t care less.

He has school to survive, a part-time job he hates, and absolutely no superpowers.

At least, that’s what he thinks.

One night, Kairo accidentally discovers an abandoned underground headquarters hidden beneath his city.

Inside are thirteen superhero suits.

Not twelve.

Thirteen.

The final suit has been ripped apart.

The hero’s name has been scratched from every photograph.

And before Kairo can figure out why, the damaged suit suddenly activates for him.

Now he can manipulate energy, launch himself through the air, create powerful shields, and release blasts strong enough to tear through concrete.

There’s just one problem.

The Twelve don’t want him using those powers.

Kairo soon discovers that the mysterious thirteenth hero wasn’t a villain.

They were erased.

And the world’s most beloved superheroes might have had something to do with it.

Now Kairo has a decision to make:

Become the world’s newest hero…

or expose the heroes it already worships.

But the deeper he searches for the truth, the more dangerous his new powers become—and somewhere out there, someone already knows the thirteenth suit has chosen again.
